데뷔 15주년을 맞은 배우 변요한이 20년 역사의 '타짜' 시리즈 마지막 작품 '타짜: 벨제붑의 노래'에서 모든 것을 잃고 복수전에 뛰어드는 승부사 장태영으로 변신한다. '타짜: 벨제붑의 노래'는 온라인 카지노 사업으로 성공한 장태영과 그의 모든 것을 빼앗은 동명의 절친 박태영이 글로벌 도박판에서 다시 만나 복수의 승부를 벌이는 범죄 영화다. 변요한이 연기한 장태영은 타고난 끗발과 직감으로 도박판을 장악하고 온라인 카지노 사업까지 성공시킨 인물이다. 성공에 익숙해진 그는 파트너 박태영이 품어온 질투를 알아채지 못한 채 배신당하고 한순간에 추락한다. 이후 복수심을 품고 다시 판에 올라 자신의 모든 것을 건 승부를 시작한다. 장태영은 변요한의 필모그래피 가운데 가장 거칠고 강한 캐릭터로 그려진다. 공개된 캐릭터 스틸에는 동물적인 감각으로 도박판을 쥐락펴락하는 장태영의 모습이 담겼다. 촬영 현장 스틸은 글로벌 카지노를 배경으로 한 영화의 이국적이고 역동적인 분위기를 보여준다. 화려한 홀덤과 카지노를 무대로 변요한 특유의 밀도 높은 감정 연기와 승부사 기질도 펼쳐질 예정이다. 원작 시리즈 가운데 '벨제붑의 노래'를 가장 인상 깊게 봤다는 변요한은 "부담감이나 두려움은 없고 오히려 더 좋은 시리즈물을 만들고 싶다는 생각을 했다"며 "최국희 감독과 좋은 배우들이 함께해 우리만의 새로운 시리즈를 만들 수 있었다"고 말했다. 허영만의 원작 만화를 바탕으로 한 '타짜' 시리즈의 마지막 편인 이번 작품은 최국희 감독이 연출하고 변요한과 노재원, 미요시 아야카가 출연한다.
